Which DVD Player.?

Hi All,

I am newbie here. Kindly suggest me a good DVD player....

Many threads in this forum, had suggested the following
- Philips DVP 5106 (i am not able to find this in philips site, is it outdated)
- Onida DFX 8520
- Samsung P650k
- Mitashi 999
- LG 9443
- Pioneer DV-383
- LG DS 9533

I am confused which to go for...
My requirements are
- AM/FM receiver would be very helpful
- Supports Dolby Digital and DTS
- Plays Divx and most other formats
- Shld support 5.1 for my future upgrades..

Kindly provide ur valuable suggestions

Pioneer, undoubtedly.

It'll be a tad more expensive than the LG/Sammy, etc. but the transport mechanism is a lot better.

What's your budget btw ?

In philips website, for dvp5965 they hav not mentioned 5.1 support... where did u get this info...

And mayb this is a stupid question, correct me if i am wrong.
...Using the USB port, can i connect my ipod output to the USB port and get the output from my dvd player to hear in the connected TV...

Unfortunately Croma is not there in blore... mumbai guys always hav the advntage... :)
 
sorry.. the player supports only 2.1 audio & usb port supports fat32 formatted flash drives & no hard drives

the best bet but without usb would be philips dvp5150 which is available for Rs.3800
 
Thnx Yogesh... dvp5150 is mentioned as 4990 in philips website.. where can i get this for the price mentioned by u in bangalore...?

Few more doubts are.
1) How is HDMI dvd player different from normal DVD player... whatz the pros and cons of it...
2) Do u suggest me to go for HDMI... or just is it another hype word for media... like PMPO
3) Can we connect a HDMI dvd player to a normal TV with 1 video and 2 audio input terminals
4) is it better to go for a 5.1 support dvd player... or can i go for normal 2.1 dvd player and connect it to an Amp like norge and get 5.1 output... i am confused... does 5.1 come from the player or the amp.... or is it possible with both.... kindly explain
5) if i have a 5.1 dvd player, can i connect them to the normal tv with with 1 video and 2 audio input terminals and able to watch movies... becoz somebody told me that i will not sound when i connect to the tv... kindly clarify...

Is there any good dvd player with AM/FM reciever.... any suggestions...
Would be better if i go with this combo....??
