PC Peripherals Which DVD writer reads DL DVD+Rs very well?

My Sony DRU -830A is unable to read Verbatim DL DVD+Rs written by itself using ImgBurn at the lowest possible speed of 4x.Any solutions ?

In other words is it time to dump the Sony?Which is the best DVD-writer around?LG?Samsung?
