I don't wanna start a new thread, i also have a query.

So what does the external casing do? can u put 2 hdd's on raid 1 using a external casing and connect them via usb and esata?

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Ok i did some search and i think its way better than buying a external esata hdd(i wan gonna buy one for about 8k) but now i can just buy a 3300Rs 1tb hdd and put it in a external encloser for about 2k.

i have found 2 enclosers

1.Transcend StoreJet 35 Ultra Desktop External Hard Drive Casing does not support more than 32 mb cache hdd's

2.Sunbeamtech Airbox 3.5” eSATA / USB External Enclosure

which one is better? anyone know where can i buy a mutiple bay one which supports raid for about 3-4k?

which is better Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA for 3300 Rs it had 32 mb cache or Western Digital 1TB SATA Green 64MB Cache for 3100 Rs?

ps: sorry for hijacking your thread :p

nice find. i think this looks like a promising storage enclosure at that price!

Edit: btw, how many units the seller has for sale has not been mentioned. wonder if he has only one. he has the lowest prices on ebay.com for this product.

Looks like he has only one unit. The same enclosure is also there in GEB from another seller for 8.4k and with a 15% coupon can get it for Rs 7140. :)

^ also it does not have quick release latch for each hdd. so hot swappable seems funny if we need to attach the drives with screws on sides.
