I am looking to buy a portable HDD, 500GB. two options:

Which one to buy?

Get the WD USB 3.0 500GB for around 3.1k Most probably it got a 7200rpm drive inside

Among the USB 2.0 ones the WD Elemets 500GB (Rs 2480 shipped)

I haven't considered WD, just because of the RMA problems that people are having. as you have suggested buying WD drives, I will consider it but need to know the current situation.

How is the WD RMA experience these days?

IMO, the only difference between the Expansion and the Go Flex is the looks.

I prefer the looks of the expansion over the Go flex but the go flex is the newer of the two.

Sorry for the OT Gaurish. But Supra, what happened after it, did you send it back yourself even after arranging for pick up from them. And the drive you got, does it show full warranty/warranty thats applicable.

Even I've had bad experience with Western Digital RMA. So I prefere Seagate over WD. GoFlex, best bet when it comes to portable HDD.
