No point in that as 4850x2 is almost as fast as the GTX285 and is significantly faster than both 4890 and gtx275.However if you have to buy one of these then gtx275 for 13.5k is definitely the better deal.

+1

and i suppose GTX 275 is faster and cooler than 4890.. wil check reviews and will update this post

You can't go wrong with either of them. Though Power consumption, Heat and noise levels will be high on 4850X2.

go with either GTX 275 or 4890.. Have look on 4890 1Ghz aswell..:)

he has 1GB version, only 512/core, not enough for 24" IMO. Single 4890 OCed will be way better, 4890 OCed beats 285 OCed editions :P

@ Anish 4870 CF better

GTX 275 has exhibited a very good performance even where HD 4890 falls. RConsidering HD 4850X2 is not advisable as it has poor driver support and have some heating issues coupled by a few problems which have been heard now and then. Well go for GTX 275 it is really a nice card.

4890 should be your choice if you r gonna keep using it for long enuff. If your plan is to upgrade in the next 4-5 months, then go for the gtx 275 now.

cheers.

4890 is marginally faster at resolutions 1600 X 1200 and below, and GTX 275 is marginally a winner about 1600 X 1200.
