Hey i wud suggest u go 4 HD 6950 xfire....I have a similar setup & I am very happy wid the performance. The thing is this time round surprisingly multi-gpu scaling for ATI is very gud & in some cases better than even NVIDIA. Moreover I am quite intrigued as to how bulldozer's gonna perform. If its as gud as the rumours suggest then with HD 6950s u can easily jump ship. BTW get a quality PSU if u r planning to go for HD 6950 xfire....as the x-48 mobo+ core 2 quad (I am assuming u have a quad) is quite power hungry specially wen overclocked, so HD 6950 xfire will need at least 60A on the 12 V rail. My suggestion is to go for a Corsair AX 850 or better.

^^One of the components that I will be retaining from my current 2 year old rig is my Corsiar HX1000 and I think it is more than capable of handling a Quad Crossfire or Tri SLI setup even with the latest AMD and nVdia GPU's.

Thats because GTA 4 does not support multiple gpus, and crysis does not looks that great on lower settings, the medium or gamer setting gives it a much better look.
My point was that there are always going to be a few games that take advantage of the extra graphics memory. GTA4 is not as much dependent on the GPU muscle as on multi threaded cpu and the quantity of memory on the graphics card. It requires 1GB texture memory just to to get to the higher texture settings. So extra memory at a small prime premium is never going to be such a waste as people want to put it off as. Why make a compromise for the sake of 4k when you are already spending 30k

Still couldn't decide between 6950 CF, 6970CF and GTX570 SLI. :ashamed: The Radeon's seem to scale better than GTX570 for higher resolutions and better quality settings and can be used on both Intel and AMD rigs. GTX570 has the advantage of Physx and a slight edge over HD6970 at 1080p, but limited to Intel based rigs for the moment.
The HIS HD6950 in the market is very attractive with the price tag of 32.4k for a pair. There is no guarantee that both of them will unlock. Alternatively, I can just get a single HD6970 or GTX570 now and another one later (when I upgrade the CPU and board) so I can be guaranteed HD6970/GTX570 class Multi GPU performance.

^^

Go for the HIS IceQ series cards heard they are cool and really quiet <not even a whisper> add to that without any Fanboyism HD 6970 performs very well at a similar price or below than the nVidia GTX 570 <also consumes less power>. Went to the HIS Site seems the IceQ version is not out for the HD 69** series yet :(.
