6pack

Northstar
Need recommendations for a good normal/ steam iron. The previous one i had lasted for about 15 years. Its contacts and parts inside got rusted so can't use it now. Also had a philips steam iron that i used for around same amount of time and that is also out of order.

Saw prices of new Philips steam irons and got a shock. Wonder whats there to charge about 2-5K for an iron :S

Have budget of just 1 - 1.5k max.

Saw some steam ions selling for around 1000, but it seems they use same materials as that of Koryo make. Its uncanny, but even the images on philips site seem like same shitty plastic and colour and same design and same place where indicator is housed, as that on Koryo iron. Seems the companies share a similar raw materials provide for low quality low cost goods...

Philips - Steam irons - Household products - Irons

I mean the GC1010 model on philips site and the Koryo 11/19X steam iron look and seem very similar.

Have a bad experience with the Koryo brand. So please give some suggestions.
Also would it be better to buy from a shop, than online?

I think irons are cheaper outside than online. Have a look at the Bajaj models. They are made for Indian usage.

Just go to a physical store and buy it,online prices are not updated and you can easily get a philips steam iron for less than 1.5k :)

I am using GC1010 and its much better than any koryo iron.If you check out the irons in person then only you will notice the difference between the two.

THr koryo stuff selling on online sites esp futurebazaar.com are crap.

Opt for a well known brand.

I have a Morphy Richards i bought 6 years ago. Works very well.

1.5K is a decent budget to get a good steam iron.

The online price on philips site seems bit high. I had got Philips iron recently similar to GC1010 but has additional manual spray and teflon coating for 1.2k
