Dear sll,
Planning to assemble a config with core i5/p55, but the bottle neck as usual seems to be HDD,
I have 2 options
1. 2 250 GB Velociraptor 10k HDD in Raid 0
2. 1 80 GB Intel SSD

(2 SSD raid 0 is faster, but Vit M is constrained)

Guys which you think is better setup...

Help PLZ...

IMO get Velociraptor.
I think its still isn't worth going for SSD's yet.

Amen!

The 150GB WD Velociraptor WD1500HLFS still 0wns!

SSDs haven't matured yet and if you care to look at the reviews, most SSDs have their share of problems including firmware issues. Not the best time to invest in one.

Don't have any sort of personal experience here but why not go for a 7200.12 250Gb Raid 0+1.Sort of a best of all worlds.

Low noise,Low cost and High Speed topped with a delicious layer of redundancy. It'd cost you under 12k including a cheap raid card if you need one.
