Laptops Which Laptop for 50k?

My sister needs a laptop with 1GB ram (upgradable to 2gb), 80gb+ hdd, a 15.4" LCD screen & with a discrete graphics card like go7400 or x1400 or x1600

but she cannot order online so no dell & no second hand

only reputed brands like toshiba, hp, compaq, sony or ibm

its very urgent so answer asap
 
hp dv5200...has 1gb ram...100gb hdd.......nvidia 7400.....15.4......fr 64k approx.

i don think theres a lappy wid that.. config..llcome fr 50k...or the asus s96j..fr 58k

I ask this as the Dell 6400 seems to be the best fit for your needs....

Anyway, she can order a dell over the phone and send payment thru DD/cheque
 
I know this is a bit above the strict "50K" budget, but the s96j costs around 54K with a free leather carrybag.

Around 53,500 IRS if you go for DDR2 533 instead of 667!

3,500 IRS isn't alot if you consider the carrycase, 2 years of warranty, and an X1600. And yes, it's a single 1GB stick, Core Duo 1.66, 80GB Sata 5,400 (Change it to 60GB and reduce the cost further).

she cannot order online as she is leaving for London on 9th September

i was searching for a similar config and similar conditions. apart from that asus s96j, i don't think you'll have too much luck in finding a model with a 50k price limit. i'm getting an HP Pavilion DV5200 which comes with a 7400 Go and 1 gig ram but it retails for 65k. i had the same problem about ordering online as i'm leaving to canada in 4-5 days from now. i searched quite a bit and im sorry to say that i don't think you'll be able to find a laptop with 1 gig RAM as well as a dedicated gfx card for 50k :<

the s96j is good that way but when i asked the asus guy about it, he told me that it would take a few weeks to be delivered so check on that. as she is going abroad, you may not have enough time to get it before going.

Not a great deal, but not too shabby either.

Decent specs for her usage I assume, and it's small too. Around 2.4kg's with a 14" Screen and obviously the HP brand name.

seems pretty costly really not a good deal at the price but if it was urgent u cant do anything much. congrats.
 
Exact same laptop cost me 45k. Dude you were robbed. This thing ain't worth 50k+. I bought mine in july so maybe they released a new model with a different body or something. Apart from that the configurations are exactly the same.

Hi 2 u : ). Nice rig you got there rio.. how much did the pc150's come for? Any idea where I can bag one in bangalore? These laptops are freaking unbelievable. Why the hell do they brag about a pci express slot when in reality they mean an express card reader. Someone should sue their collective asses in my opinion.
