PC Peripherals Which Mouse to get?

I am looking for a good mouse for my professional/gaming needs. I currently use a razer salmosa which has been thrashed for over 20 months now. I never used it on a proper surface - used it on the newspaper/floor/rough wooden table when I was living alone (lack of furniture) - result? - the mouse feet are totally gone.
Also I have issues with the left mouse button acting funny when I use it for normal desktop use--double click issue.

The mice I have used before
:-
Microsoft intellimouse - don't like very much
Razer Salmosa/Razer Copperhead/Lachesis - Love them all
Gigabyte M6800 - I have one and I don't like it much (too light)

The games I play - Only FPS and a bit of racing
Mouse Intensive tasks - photoshop/various design and content creation software
My work is extremely mouse intensive!

Kindly suggest me a good mouse upto 2000rs-

I am looking at these two mice now -
Razer Death Adder (heard there are issues)
Artic Cooling Mouse @ 1250 with adjustable weights

MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Legends Edition (new). Fixes most of the issues related to build quality and lot of pro gamers who I know are loving it now. Availability is a problem in India though. However, if you find it anywhere please let me know. Or else we can order together from abroad maybe if you are interested :)

I have a decent mouse pad now--razer vespula-have had it for a month now.

As for the death adder issues - a couple of friends have had the left mouse button click issue within a year of using the mouse. Does the death adder come with a braided cable? And how much warranty can I claim for razer products?

They probably have the first gen. DA since the newer DA with the 3.5G IR sensor rules out all the issues which were prevalent in the older DA - my older DA met a similar fate and I had to get it RMA'd through KMD and I had switched to a MS IE 3.0 which again had developed issues after a year of usage with the grip wearing out and the single click getting registered as a double click. I switched to the newer DA a month back and all iz well now. *touchwood*

And yeah, the DA does come with a braided cable. I am not sure about the warranty procedure but the rodent comes with a 2 year warranty. Perhaps it is handled by the dealer himself.

If razer offers 2 yrs of warranty with its mice - i guess i could simply rma my salmosa - i bought it from prime abgb in mar 2009. So the Death Adder is a no brainer. I read good reviews about the Artic M-571 and wanted to try it out.

damages due to usage are not covered in warranty
....but its better to try your luck .....get it RMAed ....who knws they might send you a new one or replace its base

as you liked razer a lot... its better to stick with it ...DA is great mouse with good VFM

also razer mouse work better with razer pads( read somewhere)

Can anyone give me / post Razer's service center details here. I want to RMA my Razer Salmosa. I am told its there some where in Andheri.

If you didn't like the intellimouse (I'm guessing it's the explorer and not the optical), chances are you won't like the Death Adder either. The shape is very similar.

you can get ur DA easily RMA'd for the left clicky problems if it ever occurs.

The new 3.5 DA has a braided cord and is much for fitting for your usage description.

Rubber coating will make it easier to work for longer hours.

Higher DPI useful for better precision. You can even turn of mouse-prediction with a firmware update if you so need it.

DA is an has been a great mouse.

There is a GO for the DA at 2050 .. best that you can afford.

OK just rang up Ronnie (DVDStoreDelhi) and he was kind enough to tell me ..::::.. Net Place ..::::.. is the distributor (or perhaps one of them) for Razer peripherals in the country. :)

The importer's sticker on the back of the box should read the distri's details as well.

wOOt, adding it to the list I have populated here - http://www.techenclave.com/pc-peripherals/find-your-peripherals-service-centre-details-168949.html :D

MX 518 + a decent mousepad (steelseries qck or razer goliathus)
In my opinion within the 2k mark, look no further than the legendary MX518. I think razer has just 1 year warranty, Logitech gives you three.

Razer offers a 2 year warranty. I hope you have seen how the MX518 fairs after a year of usage with the discoloration and the grip on the sides wearing out. You wouldn't have suggested it otherwise. The present gen. MX518 is not what it used to be, which was sold about ~4 years back.

i didn't like the shape of the mx 518 very much and it was somewhat uncomfortable when i tried it out at prime last year when i went to buy my mouse. I chose the razer salmosa over it.
