Hi guys,
Wondering which mp3 player to get ? Basically have 11k saved right now..can gather 2-3thousand more..wondering which mp3 player to get..should have good sound quality esp. for hard trance..going to be using it in the gym mostly..so portability should be there..
Which one to go for in Mumbai ? and from where ?
I am a total noob when it comes to mp3 players..

If you just want great Sound quality get a Cowon D2, eyes closed.

Its available around 12k.

Another option would be Apple iPod Nano 4g which is purely eye candy stuff, it won't offer great SQ as the Cowon player but will surely get you noticed.

Be sure to check out specifications and features of both devices before you make a choice.

u can have more options in creative players.

Also in case it wud be mostly gym lookout for sweatproof (errr...waterproof) players, others can advise on this. Plus keep some money separate for good headfones(again seinheiser or creative).

a good player is worthless without good headfones and you have a pretty good budget too

For Sound I'd go for Cowon D2, but for Gym I just think Nano 4G is a good one coz of the sleek design, sturdy build and very well-balanced sound

wow thanks guys..such good replies so quickly :)

thanks a lot.

I will check all of the suggestions out.

which headphones should I go for ? Eye candy is not really needed..I am more for functionality over looks..though keeping a balance..

I have Seinheisser hd457 for PC ..but obviously cant use them there lol

p.s. Dj Scot Project is the best hard trance :)

Take a look at this link : Top 5 MP3 Players of 2008

If you don't want video playback / funkiness, Sansa Clip is the cheapest and the best. Plus, you can use the remaining dough to buy awesome headphones / earphones. Rest is up to you.

For earphones, i'd recommend Sennheiser CX400 or Sound magic PL-30 but if you are on a budget Creative EP-630's are nice enough.

I would like to add that I use my EP-635 (not 630) for listening to music on the move as they have a neck strap with facility to attach your player as well. Thus making the same a good choice for people on the move.

No worries of keeping the player in pocket or headfone wires getting stretched et al

Cheers

Hi TTM

how is the ipod touch 8/16 GB..? I am also considering

to buy one.

Not recommended for an active lifestyle!

working out,jogging etc...

Otherwise a great entertainment device with decent enough sound quality...

Be sure to check out the SQ of other players too..

For earphones, I'd suggest the Philips SHS8000. Way better than the EP630 at around the same price. None of the muddy bloated bass and far better highs.

Plus its an ear-hook model, so perfect for gym-use.

Here's the amazon listing. One of my friends reported buying it for just Rs. 900. It bought it 2 years ago at 1.5k - still works fine.

As for a player, the iPod Nano should do well.

What headphones should I get ?

bought it for 2490 at Croma..sansaclip 2gb.

Saw Seinheisser cx300 for rs.2500 and philips she9850 for 5000 i think.

can get both.which one shud i get ?
