Hi All...

Since al my network devices now support N wireless, time to chuck the G router and move to N.
Else need to get lot of wires.. :(
I need the following.

1. Good N router, VFM, cheap posible with following functions
2. It should support USB devices. HDD/Printer. If its a single USB it should support a USB hub for port multiplication
3. I have a 3G Sim.. soo if anyways i can just connect a USB 3G data card to it for net.. then the best.

Want the most cheapest VFM option that does all this. And i prefer if it can do it out of the box rather than hacking it.
torrent support is optional.

Any help appreciated.

The feature set that you're looking for will not come cheap. The Asus RT-N16 and the Linksys WRT610N can do what you want, but are fairly expensive.

I hope it can be under say.. 6k..
why arent you considering this?

Buffalo Inc.

it sells for around 5k locally.

some months back when i picked up a new router i had narrowed it down to this buffalo model & netgear wndr3700. in the end i did spend a little more and got the wndr3700 for 7600. both routers are very good and solid, but personally i havent used the buffalo.

i am using the wndr 3700 for internet sharing, connected to pc via gigabit lan, connected to the ps3 via gigabit lan, connected to acryan pohdmini via wifi N, connected to 2 laptops via wifi G & i am soon gonna add another pohd via wifi N.

so far its been working great, but its a little over your budget. if you can extend your budget i am sure this is a good choice, if not then i am sure that the buffalo will also perform equally as good as the wndr.

Actually that router is top on my list..

most prolly will go for that... just coz its pretty. :)

whats the + over buffalo for netgear?

well..

I have increased my budget to 7~7.5k..

Thght of RT n13u... but only 2 torrents can be on at the same time..

RT n16 is a great device it seems... but need to know from someone if a USB hub and USB 3g data card can be used.

I dont want to flash and stuff.. just out of the box... DDWRT looks confusing to me.

Dude DD WRT or any other open source firmware is not confusing. Once you know how to do it u will really enjoy true power of router. So do not think that way.

My recommendation would be Asus RT N16. FYI Specs are...

Proccy: Broadcomm 533 Mhz

Ram : 128 MB

Flash : 32 Mb

This is very good specs at the price point you r getting. Torrents will work awesome.

I dont know about USB 3G part...Someone could clarify.

But it does looks confusing.. i tried reading up few stuff.. installing basic firmware and the optware and all....

And can anyone else say the diff between tomato and DDWRT?

and the optware packages for it?

any reason you are opting for the asus nt16 compared to the wndr3700 as both are in the same pricerange. just curious

Asus RT-N13U rev.B1

It has 8mb flash 64mb Ram

No DD-wrt

Default ASUS firmware works like a charm

6 torrents on default ASUS firmware with download master software
