Which Nintendo console should I buy?

Hi,

I am considering buying a Nintendo console

The last time I played Nintendo was 20 years ago. It was called samurai back then. (NES)

I am only interested in playing Mario, zelda,metroid, contra. Other games do not interest me.

There are multiple consoles in the market. Ds lite, DSi, 3DS, Wii, etc.

It's confusing. I think I'll prefer the handheld console as it won't require a separate tv setup.

Can someone tell me how much it will cost me to buy one.

Also, are the Mario,zelda games expensive?

Which would be the safest place to buy? Website or an actual physical shop in new delhi?

All DS games work on the 3DS also, which has a 3D screen (no glasses required).

You might just want to buy a 3DS and play through all the DS games you missed, which is a Huge number, as the system has had some great games. Then you can catch up with the 3DS games when they go down in price. Keep in mind, Nintendo first party games very rarely drop in price.

The Wii is quite inexpensive right now. It also has brilliant Zelda and Mario games (maybe the best Mario games ever) and a few other good games but over all, the library pales a bit in comparison to the DS + anticipated 3DS titles.

I have no idea about the prices in India, sorry.

The DSlite looks genuine. The games are pirated.

Also, the 3DS prices are atrocious. It is selling for $150-$170 in the US. Even using a cross shipping service, it will turn out to be less expensive to import it.
 
So, the pirated games will not play well?

The problem with buying from outside India is that I don't know what kind of import duties I might end up paying.

I am assuming you would recommend that I buy 3DS?

Anyone here in the forum suggest me the best & most economical way to get the nintendo console?

I only want to play 4 games on nintendo - Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Contra. I am not interested in playing any other game.
 
The problem is 3DS is double the price of ds lite.

I can get ds lite for 7000 rupees along with 30 games. The problem is i am not sure if the item is genuine or fake.
