so which do u think is best suited? i may use MAYA on the laptop. also do tell if i can play dungeon siege2, nfs-mw on this laptop.

hey if i buy the Acer 4520 and add an extra 1GB RAM will i be able to play high end games(if yes which ones) and do internet and multi-tasking?

^ the graphic card is a 128 mb 8400M so even if you add ram, it doesn't mean you'l be able to play games in full resolution. Yes you'l most likely be able to play 'high end games' but not in very high res mate. Internet/multi tasking? all possible on even a Celeron.

Acer 4520 is better :D as it has a decent graphics chip . check again with the dealer before making the move

edit: why are there two configs for acer 4520? one with Geforce 7000M and other with 8400M ? make sure , again :)

also wats the meaning of The NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GT1,2 GPU with 128 MB of dedicated GDDR2 VRAM and up to 1 GB of TurboCache™

wat does the 1GB represent? if i have 2 GB RAM then does it make any good?

Technically speaking, a Core 2 Duo processor is better than an AMD X2 .

anyway, by all means, go for it!

edit: TC is an useless feature . it will just collect ram from main system lol.. No, memory size doesnt mean anything . its only a buffer to store. What really matters is the bandwidth within the chip and the chip itself lolz. 8400M is quite latest and decent too.

Playing latest high end games on any of these laptops is going to be a struggle coz of poor GPU's.

The 1 GB means that your graphics gard can use upto 1 GB of your system RAM in addition to the dedicated RAM in GPU itself.

If you want to play latest games, try bumping up your budget a bit and go for Dell Vostro 1500 N with a 8600m GT GPU.

well i won't be playin the latest games, just wanted to know if i could play.
i only want to use as a secondary for my desktop. no hardcore gaming.
i will do patrician 3, dungeon siege 3 etc.
