Lets say there are two laptops:

Laptop 1) Ryzen 5 5600H + 8 GB DDR4 RAM + 4 GB 2050 Graphics [Total memory: 8 + 4 = 12 GB]
Laptop 2) Ryzen 5 5600H + 16 GB DDR4 RAM + Integrated graphics [ Total memory: 16 + 0 = 16]

Note that Laptop 2 would have two two RAM sticks and thus Dual channel RAM, and all of its advantages.

1 is correct but I would not buy a new laptop with 8gb ram as it will saturated within a few chrome tabs.
