Hello, I just wanna know which one of them is better quality DVD maker Moser baer or Verbatim? This is kind of necessary, as my colleague has asked me, coz he uses a lot of DVDs for writing data. Plz help.
Thank you:)

Verbatim, but if you are not talking about dual layer dvds, I guess Moser Baer arent so bad either.

Verbatim's are proven performers so i guess that'd be a better choice . Although that doesnt necessarily make MoserBaer bad .

I have like 500-600 Verbatims and they have never given up on me even once. So i guess they are very dependable.

But remember, get the MIS ones and not the regular ones. Another good media is Sony which whatever you buy is usually good.

Verbs, available in Indian market is made by Moserbaer India. But there are made with Verbatim equipments and propreitry dyes
So, its not inferior to Verbs made in other countries
source: read from CDfreaks

Moserbaer branded discs are just OK

When Verbs are available very cheap here, its makes sense to go for them

Well then I will be suggesting my colleague to use Verbatim discs as there cost is coming less & better than Moser Baer. Thank you guys.

I have experienced some failures with Moser Baer, but never with Verbatim. They are surely more reliable, even though they may be manufactured by Moser Baer India, since Moser Baer will be using Verbatim's quality processes.

Most of the MB's i've used here have been quite good. quality scans in the mid 90s.

Never felt the need to go with Verb's yet.

i used to consider moserbaer better quality until i started using verbatim.

i dunno if it is placebo effect but i have had no data corruption over verbatims so far..but again i have used merely 50 till date.

in case of moserbaer.. 1-2dists used to fail during the finalization at the end of writing process occasionally.

data corruption used to occur in several disk..i thought it is due to my aging burner/reader...my most of the re-writable dvds have failed to read after a certain amount of time and the shop keepers do not honour the replacement..they direct you to contact Moser baer directly.

currently im feeling confident with verbatims.

at Rs11 per disk (550 for spindle of 50disks)..it really doesn't burn a whole in the pocket.

many of my 4+ yr moser baer disks are giving crc errors now while copying data off them. maybe cause of humid weather here in my place. been seeing some spot on the disks in lowermost layers (of spindles) when they are stored in spindle boxes.

cant say abt verbs, since i started using them only abt 3 yrs back. but none of them have failed so far.

Even cheapo national dvds burn better for me. No errors so far even the scratched dvd i burned is working properly. I cant assure that of moser baer of very few i burnt quarter of them have crc error.

I've had no probs with MB for over 5 years now, they burn well and the dye is stable meaning the quality scans have not changted much even after 5 years.

The prices Naveen posted are actually cheaper than i pay for a pack of 10 MB (!)

I don't have any Verb suppliers near me so have not tried them out. I'm not sure if they are rebranded MB here tho, in which case there should be very little difference. Your other choice is sony which is slightly more pricey.

Hmm, I seem to be having very bad luck with DVD media. Both my writers have died just after warranty period is over, almost all my cheaper media burns have died (Moser Baer) and now I am noticing a lot of Taiyo Yuden media dying too...
