Did you actually check if the drive is under warranty by entering the serial number on their support page? Or did you end up blindly trusting their words?
devilinearth said:Thanks!.Actually the Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB Poratable Drive was available for Rs.3700, but this one costs me 200 bucks more, because its a bit smaller than the former. Its the Ultra-Portable Edition. I dont know whether they charged me more or not, but it was cheaper compared to many other stores at my place(Cochin).
I dont think Seagate is having international warranty. I purchased a drive from dxb, it went bad, and when I enquired with the Seagate Serive people, they said that I have to take it back to dxb itself to claim the warranty :-(
Mate, there is nothing like ultra portable drive as far as freeagent GO is concerned. You have ultra portable drives only with go-flex series drives according to seagate website. BTW did the packing say anything like freeagent GO ultra portable ?. I am very sure that you have been ripped off by 200 bucks...
No performance difference. The expansion ones have 3 years warranty, and thats what Seagate will be pushing going forward.niteshkhatri said:Apart from poratbility, is there any other difference in the quality or performance of Seagate Expansion against the Freeagent GO?
