PC Peripherals Which Printer ?

EHH

Forerunner
1) My old Epson Inkjet Ink Tank All-in-One is in coma.
All 3 leds blinking, no repair guy was interested in touching it.
ASS says too vintage for us.
YTube says some kinda clutch problem, turn the gears, tried DIY but failed.
The starting ritual of full head movement across is stuck, it moves a mm and then leds starts to blink.
Any suggestions ?

2) Alternatively looking to buy a new Inkjet Ink Tank all-in-one printer.

Which brand should I consider this time: Epson, Brother, HP, or Canon

Important: My usage is intermittent, so I need a model that isn’t prone to printhead clogging. Ideally, the printhead should also be affordable to replace if necessary. I previously had to replace the Epson printhead (costing Rs. 3500) due to clogging after a period of low usage, but also read somewhere the Epson is least prone to clogging.

Cartridge-based models might suit my intermittent/low usage better, but I like to scribble on prints and don't want to think twice about cost every time I click print. Calculated after ~1000 prints the Cartridge printer = Ink Tanker.

I guess by my usage by the time the ink tankers run out of original ink the model will be EOL / no ass, like the epson now.

Epson has third party resetter softwares, dont know about others.

Any recommendations?

Cartridge-based
Canon Pixma MG2577s
HP DeskJet 2331 / 2332

Ink Tank
HP 529
Brother T 226
Epson L3200
Epson L3211

Only if you dont need colour pritns, a laser pribter would be best and it requires even lesser maintenance.
Get a HP 1007 or something alike used which you may get for 3000-4000 only..

If you want colour printouts then go with Epson Inktank Wifi printers or AIOs.
Then brother is also good along with Canon. Don't go with HP at all. HP cartridges are expensive if you wanna go that way also.
Buy original inka only. Epson, Canon and Brother gives inks bundled with their printers and these are sufficient for at least 4k B&W prints initially or 1k colour prints. Not photographs. Okay.

I'm using Epson L130 and my usage is also intermittent. I've been able to get the printer to print good quality prints by using the ink flush function after multiple month's inactivity. I would recommend going up in this series and getting L3100 or similar ones.

If colour printing and Wi-fi printing is not a requirement, I would suggest the Brother HL_B2000D, laser printer. You can forget about maintenance and the hassle of mandatory printing frequently. Inkjet printers and Ink tank printers will always clog until and unless you're running something like a photocopy shop. From a long-term and cost perspective, laser printers make the best sense according to me. Of course, colour printing will be missed unless you have a 20Kish budget.

Am using Epson L3150 since the last 5 years and until now replaced the head and the pipes connecting the ink tanks since the printer got damaged in 2023 when we shifted to new city from Hyderabad. Had costed me 1.9k from Epson Authorised serviceman.

I'm not sure about other series, but the HP 3630 I have has become a little bit of a nightmare to use. Doesn't allow you to print via phone unless you use their stupid app which requires a mandatory registration. Got around it by sending prints via the laptop, but still. Don't think I'll go the HP way again.
