In 4th Gen Intel I5 series, which processor is considerable amoung U and M?

There is dual words on both type of processor.

Checked on Intel site and says M processor draw more power makes their fan and body heavy compare to light & tiny U processor which draw less power.

any insight/expert opinion here helps me to choose Lappy accordingly (Stuck up to peake Z-510 Lenovo laptop due to this verdict. Z series having M while S & U series having U processor.

A U processor draws less power because it is clocked significantly lower as well.
Can you check what the base clocks are for the U and M processors? I'm guessing its 1.6GHz for the U and 2.5GHz for the M? That should answer your question.

Does anyone can say M is superior based on single reason-clock speed is more. There is two mouth words/opinion.

Unable to understand your post. Could you re-phrase what you are trying to say?

The link confirms what I said - there's a nearly 40% difference in clock speeds, so you can expect a similar 40% difference in performance, since the architecture is identical.
Turbo speeds are not relevant since they will work only in bursts. A laptop with a heatsink designed for the low TDP (15W) in a 'U' proc will not run at turbo speeds (25W TDP) for long. There's a more likely chance of the M proc's heatsink (37W TDP) sustaining the turbo clocks.

Another point - If memory serves me right, you want to use this for gaming. Your U proc based laptop will most likely not include a dedicated graphics card.

yes, your memory is right.

To make it simple, should I buy Laptop with dedicated graphic card acompanying with U processor or M Processor?

You are wrong here U processor Laptop also having dedicated graphic card.

I think there would be minor performance difference when both "M @ 3.1GHz" & "U @ 2.6GHz" are compared in turbo mode.
It's a mistake to compare turbo speeds for laptops :-

If turbo speeds were easy to sustain within the TDP envelope, Intel would just sell them as a 2.6GHz part and use Speedstep for power saving.

@Crazy_Eddy ~ I agree with you regarding Intel Speedstep. Anyway @ Rs.38,839 HP 15-r007t is the best bang for buck. With Rs.1500 discount by SNAPDEAL it comes to Rs. 37,339 which makes the product more value for money. According to my research, Intel i5 4th Gen "M" series cpu`s are rare with GPU in India. If you find any, do share with us ;)

@bodmas Check out the Lenovo G510 and Lenovo G500 on Flipkart.
G500 with 3rd gen i5, AMD 8570 GPU costs 40.4K
G510 with 4th gen i5, AMD 8570 GPU costs 41.2k (Currently out of stock in FK)

Both models have DOS.

I am on mobile and so am unable to post the links.

Nice find @hotshot05.
Let me share links to be usefull for other members
Lenovo Essential G500 (59-370339) Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 500GB/ 2GB Graphics/DOS) (Black) ~ Rs.37,499

Lenovo Essential G510 (59-398452) Laptop (4th Generation Intel Core i5- 4200M- 4GB RAM- 500GB HDD- 15.6 Inches- Windows 8- 2GB ATI Sunpro 8570 Graphics) (Black) ~ Rs.45,674

PS: Lenovo Essential G500 is the better option while considering "Value for money"

I have found one more HP 15-d103TX Laptop with i5 4th Gen | 2GB Nvidia 820M GPU + FREE BAG @Rs.39,250
http://www.amazon.in/HP-15-d103TX-15-6-inch-Laptop-Bag/dp/B00KG6202Y
Go for this one over Lenovo Essential G500 (59-370339) to get 4th Gen i5 "M" series processor + Click touchpad left right buttons.

If the price is almost similar, I would prefer the Lenovo G510 (4th gen i5 M series + AMD 8570m) over the HP one.
According to this comparison, AMD 8570M will deliver better performance compared to the GT820M - http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/inde...5&compare=geforce-820m-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-8570m

The DOS based model costs Rs.41250 on Flipkart[out of stock]. Also check your local electronics market. In Kolkata, the price is lower than Flipkart by a margin of 1k - 1.5k and will also include a laptop bag (it seems that most laptops sold on Flipkart come without bag now).

@hotshot05 ~ Agree with you regarding GPU performance between Nvidia 820M vs AMD 8570M but both belongs to different architecture. Anyway @Rs.41,250 LENOVO G510 (59-398452) is good bang for buck but it is presently selling @Rs.45,674 on FLIPKART which is a huge price difference as compared with HP`s 15-d103TX @Rs.39,250.

The G510 version which is selling at 45k includes Windows 8.1. The DOS version costs Rs.41250

bodmas & hotshot05 - Indeed good option - G510 & HP.
Just a que.: is Z series (Lenovo) successor to G series in terms of overall performance scale?

Well these are not successors but different series. "G" Series comes in ESSENTIAL lineup while "Z" Series comes in IDEAPAD lineup. I am not 100% sure but IDEAPAD seems to be premium among ESSENTIAL series.
