I am looking for RO system for home. The water coming to my home has TDS of 750. I have come to the below mentioned RO system as final, please give your views on these and tell which of these you own or had owned etc or which of these you like and why?

1. Kent Grand Plus Rs.15000/- (selling on HS18 for Rs.13000/-). Is HS18 a trusted site to buy products & do they sell genuine products.

2. Zero B Prestline Model Rs.13000/- (Buy Water Purifiers in India at low Prices Filtered on Water Purifiers)

3. Nasaka 12 Stage Minijet + RO system (UV Water Purifiers India | Best Water Purifier Systems ? Essel Nasaka) Rs.14000

4. Hind Lever's Marvella RO system (Rs.12000/-)

5. Home made RO system which has all the features of all the above ROs. Rs.9000/-

I did purchase that kent ro at home and it's doing good job.
Regarding home shop , it's reputed site. So you may go ahead.

I have a limited knowledge on this matter, but look for the RO which do not strain off the Minerals.
The likes of Kent Mineral RO types.

I had asked around, and its indeed the case that the earlier RO did hampered your immunity as they used to take out the minerals from the water as well. The new line of RO in the market do not do that, so its more beneficial.

Nasaka 12 stage minijet puts in minerals in water. What technology is that....? Is it something different.

As far as Kent is concerned, it bypasses the water and thus preserves the minerals but it does not clear whole of the water.

Puts in the minerals ..?
I havent read about it so do clarify.. how does it accomplishes Putting in minerals..? Via its own supplies or by using the water inlet as source for extraction of minerals and then filling up mineral level into purified water ?

Any info available on net for the working of this model ?

Provide source for this info. Would like to read more on this if its on the internet.

See this - Nasaka has mineral cartridge which replenishes the minerals. See its catelogue.

EsselNasaka - Products

As far as Kent info., it is provided by their agent who had visited us. The TDS & minerals are controlled when the water is bypasses other than RO to UV.

Nasaka seems to be a collabration between nasaka and essel, so it should be a good product, since essel is in the pic. My vote goes for Kent or Pureit. Aquaguard can be safely thrown out of the window!

Just a Querry: Why is'nt Eureka Forbes on ur poll .... I could'nt cast my vote ;) (they are/have been the largest sellers of water filters and purifier's in India) ?

While I do share my dear friend @vivek.krishnan sentiments about throwing Aquaguard outa da window :bleh:. Yes, they've had a monopoly for donkey years, BUT their products are the best. We know how every 2 years or so all their products are relaunched with a few cosmetic changes and a price raise of at least 25% if not more. Their annual contract charges too go up proportionally. They are not too keen on customer's picking up spares/replacements (like candles/filters/granules). Everything has to go through their army of sales & service personnel ...... STILL they make the best. They also have plenty of RO based filters ..... albeit all expensive from 9.5K to 19K.

I've never used any RO based water filter (as Mumbai does not really need it ....). I've used Eureka Forbes for over 18 years (changed the Unit just once as newer technology came by).

Yes the market is flooded with various brands (non of them existed prior to 15-20 years ago) - however go for something which will be around (spares etc) for the lifetime of your purchase.

Cheers

Yes I did'nt put any RO system from Eureka, as some of their models are sold directly by the Co. agents and some are sold by dealers. So could'nt understand those selling ideas. Secondly I myself used Eureka's Classic for the last 7-8 years and now want to change as I have heard problems in their RO models.

Otherwise I liked their ELEGANT RO model but it did'nt have the UV & AquaSure RO+UV but is costly.
IF YOU COULD SUGGEST ANYTHING OTHER THAN THIS, PLS GO AHEAD

Kent, EurekaForbes & Ion Exchange (Zero-B) are all good. I have used the first two. No issues. Ion Exchange is a reputed company in the field of water treatment.

What ever you buy get the output water sample if possible by a lab. Mostly the technician who install will get a Chinese TDS meter that would be calibrated.

get the Ph of the water tested too.i got a few samples checked at a lab and my aquaguard RO unit had a Ph of 6.8-6.7 .if it matters to you that is.apparently these units remove all minerals from the water, which is not good.

What Ph is normal for drinking water......
