Which Software application used for Billing at shops?

Hi,

I hope we do have some shop owners here on TE.I was wondering what software does everyone use for billing purpose at POS/Shops.

My friend is starting a restaurant. he thinks i am a techie and hence asking me on what solution should be opt for. Honestly, I have no idea:ashamed:

main concerns:

1) Need Free or licensed application.free is better

2) reliable and works as expected.

3) the scale of operation is small, so no custom software.

Let me know what you guys are using for POS billing?

It would help, if the software is Easy to use and does not need any special skill to operate.
 
many shops in India use Tally, DacEasy,Wings etc.Tally is the most popuplar.Its good to use original s/ws rather than copies ones.

For resturants there are other biling softwares designed esp :for hotel/coffe shops, it requires another type of inventory mgmt & KOTs.Many s/ws are available in India,but many shops order custom s/ws.
 
i need a software to keep simple daily accounts at home. Which softwares do you guys recommend?

I need it to be simple(not like tally) as it would be used by my parents.
 
most the applications you suggested here are "Accounting type". I don't they would suit for coffee shop billing.

any other ideas?
 
there are exclusive s/w for coffe shops such as abacre restayrant POS,Foodman,Plexis,eZee hotel etc.In India many hotel use locally made s/ws, each location has one s/w developer and all hotels in that area use them !.

if you are on to tight budget the go for all in one printers from Wipro Bounty series, were its packed with all s/w for coffe/restaurants with a built in printer.priced from Rs.6500 ~ no need for any computer/printer/software.All integrated on a small printer with screen/keypad.visit Wipro website for details,or i can help you too.
