Since you mentioned smallville subterranean episode then I am assuming it has to be this song which plays in the end when lex walks out. (didnt see your link as it wasnt opening for me)

These two songs are infact same, Prelude 12/21 by AFI from the album December Underground. Just a 1:30 minute song.

yes....exactly !!

And honestly, that scene is spectacular. The mediocre episode had a mindblowing ending.

I of course got hold of the song...prelude 12/21.
