PC Peripherals Which Speakers?

I m wanting to buy a 5.1 speaker set for my computer. I have an 865gbf mobo which has onboard sound. will my onboard sound be complaint enough for the speakers or do i need an external sound card?

what would be the best option under rs.5000.
 
a external soundcard will be very much better than on-board sound.. and from what i have seen on the forums, Altec Lansing 251 are the best 5.1 speakers in that budget.. Also heard (from Chaos) Logitech X-530s are good.. or did he say R-530? not sure.. u do the searching :D
 
Has to be X-530. Go for that if it is available. Pretty decent. But maybe at that pricepoint, the Altec Lansings are better.
