Ah man, legendary phone. I bought it when it launched and got almost 6 years out of it. Ran into network disconnection issues towards the end, but paisa vasool

Bought Poco F1 armoured edition 8/256 5 years ago.
Still driving it.
Every year new version of Android and fresh battery.
Currently Android 14 Pixel OS and 10+ hours of SOT.

They are, plus the spare parts dont cost an arm and leg, like the BKK ones. But they had some bad issues in between - X3 or something had huge motherboard issues.

For the most part they are good. Its the same Mi/Redmi phones with rebranding. We got the batteries for Mi 11X and another Redmi (i think 10) replaced at 1.3K each. I still have the F1 but since its a 4G phone, not using.

It was one hell of a device. Shocking good at everything. Everyone agrees about performance but my best images were clicked by Poco F1. Not sure how Mi was able to design a device so good.

Most of the advantages and disadvantages of both systems were pointed out already but I have an unusual qualm about Android. I don't think "SMS Permission" should be a thing.

They refuse to work if you don't give them that permission. They somehow make do without that ability on iPhones.

Toggling the SMS permission only changes the SEND_SMS app ops. This does not seem to affect READ_SMS.
