Camera Which Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon EOS 1000D

I'm looking for a Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon. I am more inclined towards getting a Canon lens itself rather than Tamron or Sigma. Well below are my options:

1. EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS : EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS - Digital Cameras - Canon India

2. EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III : EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III - Digital Cameras - Canon India

3. EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM : EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM - Digital Cameras - Canon India

4. Tamron AF 70-300mm Di f/4-5.6 MACRO 1:2 lens : Tamron -70-300mm F/4-5.6(Model A17)

The advantage with #1 is that it has got Image Stabilization however #2, #3 and #4 don't have. #3 is USM model which is quite good for fast focusing. And #4 has additional macro facility. So which one should I go for?

This question fetches a long discussion in photography forums :p

I would certainly rule out 2nd option.

70-300 USM haves Micro USM, not ring type.. also in IQ also its similar to the non USM one..

Now the option is either Canon 55-250 IS, Tamron 70-300mm or Sigma 70-300mm APO (u didnt mentioned it)

If you are looking for decent tele lens only with better IQ, 55-250 is FTW..

If you need better magnification so that U can do some closeups also Tamron or Sigma could be the better option.. However, they arent that smart at tele end..(but not bad too)

Only disadvantage of Canon 55-250 is that it is a EF-S lens.. however, I dont consider a issue for a 10k lens coz if U buy a 1L full frame, U will rather be tempted to use L lenses on it instead of a cheap 10k lens :bleh:

Well I want a lens with good IQ. After researching I found that neither Tamron nor the Sigma has Image Stabilization. Hence I'm tempted to go for Canon 55-250mm IS lens. Is there any other tele lens in budget of 10-12k?
