I have a Quad 8400 on a G31M S2L

I installed everest 4.5 on the sensors tab it reports the temperature.
It shows 34C for the CPU full.

It then shows four different temps for the four cores.
they are usually around 45-55 on idle and go up when on load. I havent run any stressing tools till now. I wanted to confirm which temps should I look for.

I have a Problem?

I have a Q8400 on a G31MES2L Gigabyte.

When I run prime 95 torture test temps on all my cores reach 90+ within a minute from abt 37 at idle and come back to 40ish within 1-2 min. I s this possible. I am doing this on stock no overclocking done.

Also If I reduce the vid from BIOS will the temps fall even if I keep the CPU at stock.

Is Gigabyte's energy saver utility recommended???

Check your heatsink whether it is fitted properly on CPU. apply some good thermal paste, check TJmax setting with coretemp. Your temp. will be lower if u reduce VID but it wont make any diff. as you are getting 90+ already.. 1st of all, check the heatsink and thermal paste. also, post your current BIOS settings as well as CPUz , coretemp screenshots of temp. on load.
