can someone pls suggest a TV tuner card for my 19" Viewsonic LCD. I currently have a intex one but it is not good enough. Thanks in advance.

Compro Videomate PVR is a very good TV tuner card..i've been using one for the last 3-4 years and it still works flawlessly and picture quality is very good too..

Pinnacle cards are good too...

You can take any of the 2 brands...both are equally reliable..:)

There is a Tech-com external TV tuner , spefically made for LCD....ie if you are looking for an average build at cheap price...

^thts a useless POS coz, it can only be used for watching and tht too in pathetic video quality...if u want to record videos, then there is no better (and cheaper) option than an internal tv tuner card from a good brand..There are a few external tv tuners tht allow you to record thru usb, but they are very expensive. And stay away from techcom, mercury, frontech, intex crap...if u want reliability and good performance, get a pinnacle or a compro tv card...

its not only hardware but also software(PVR) & drivers that really determine picture quality so try to stay away from generic tuners from tech com, intex, frontech etc........as they have crappy drivers & PVR software

i have used many tuners from generic SAA7130HL to compro videomate tv gold plus 2 9bit SAA7134based to conexant 10bit ADC based leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp global

IMHO consider buying 10bit ADC based leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp global for 2500 bucks .....its has excellent driver support plus its PVR is updated very frequently .......plus its remote controller natively fully supports POWERDVD 5,6,7

I have both these cards with E228WFPs….. picture quality of leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp global is lot better than compro videomate tv gold plus 2 on both CATV & composite(DTH) input

compro videomate tv gold plus 2 retails for 3200rs whereas leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp global retails for 2500rs. Compro card here is expensive because compro bundles ulead videostudio 8 , ulead dvd movie factory 3(these software are not of much use as an average user prefers nero:p ) & compro DVD as dvd playback software……..whereas leadtek not even bundles a dvd playback software to keep prices low :p :p (though powerdvd is supported if user already has it & most people have oem POWERDVD bundled with dvd drives:hap2: :hap2: )
