Through I know OOPS and JAVA, I never used them with UML.

can you suggest me which UML Tool(s) used in ITs ?

depends on what you have access to i guess... a good book on UML would help.

software? rational rose (commercial/expensive)

then there's quick n dirty umlpad: '+' windows download available along with source which you should be able to get to compile on linux.

also umbrello for kde: Umbrello UML Modeller

dia for gnome: Dia a drawing program

Yes, I was thinking of Rational Rose.

But, before that, I called a a guy from IBM, TCS, CTS.... none of them use it. Everyone uses new and separate software I never heard of :(

But interface is almost same....

One of my clients used Enterprise Architect. Its a good one, they needed certain features which were only available on this.

Maybe open source ones are good enough for learning (Actually much more than that).

would that be Rational Software Architect(RSA)?

Rational rose is the best for UML although ArgoUML is not bad either and good thing about ArgoUML is that it is free.
