Hi,
m planing 2 get corsair Vx550 or Glacial power 650aa.i'll b using a 17"CRT monitor also
* suggest me A UPS
* can i use APC 650va!?

thanx....

^ At a peak, your system would not be using 390W. Hence UPS will take care of your rig. Though I would suggest 800VA UPS/750VA.

if my system wont go more than 390W at peak
* then why shud i go for vx550..i can go for vx 450 !! rite it will b big saving around 1.5k
* also y shud i go for 800va/750va!!:S

i think i can sav a big amount of money...correct me if i'm wrong.

thank u....

^^ you see, thats why I suggested the VX450 with APC 650VA. If you have the money, then only buy VX550+APC 800VA.

Post your other rig parts. Then we can suggest you better.

As you asked between two, we suggested you same.

at peek it if will reach only 350w as u said(i know it depends on rig,here imagine as it is taking350 at peak ) then 650 w ups is good enough,then also u wer suggeting for 800VA UPS/750VA!! thats what i was asking..

hop u got my point..

Well first of all post your other rig components, then we can suggest you better/best.

As a 650VA UPS delivers maximum 390W of load, in worst conditions we shouldn't make UPS to be on full load all the times. Using at 80% load is ideal.

Read it thoroughly

Also let say you upgrade some part after a year or so, would you like to upgrade your UPS too. ;)

@paapi: post your system specs.

APC is not a perfect UPS and hence doesnt love to be loaded in its 80%-100% of rated output (390W).

My friend blew his Tagan BZ600 Modular 80+ SMPS (worth 6.5k) because of his APC 650 UPS.

His system spec:

Q6600

Asus P5ne sli

XFX 8800GT AD XXX edition 512

2-3 HDDs

4-5 Fans

Hence my suggestion would be APC 800VA.

PS: i cant afford a APC 800 and dont really need one anyways, so im not using a UPS at all :p Its atleast better than risking my VX450, which loves Clean AC as input only (which is nearly delivered by SineWave UPS and not other UPS, which cost even more :S )

@ sumchamp nd sato1986: thanx guys i got it now...its really gr8 support frm u guys:hap2:....i'll post ma rig 2day itself as m still working on it

*btw what is the price of APC 800va

thanx alot...:)

U never asked "which PSU to buy for xyz graphics card" Go with VX450 then. Its good for a GTX 260 as well. APC 650VA wud be enough.

I used microtek 800VA with 4850, 3 hdd, over clocked Q6600 gaming 5-6 hours everyday, no issues. Microtek 800VA = APC 650VA LMAO! Get 800VA if u want to, more is kinda future proof.
