PC Peripherals which UPS is good for this config

Hi guys,

I currently have a 22" samsung B2230. I would most probably get a phenom x4 and a 785 mobo. I wont be having a GPU as the onboard one would be enough. So what UPS should I go for?

A good branded 800VA(>600Watts) (or 1KVA with a higher SMPS/GPU (later)))will be required now.

If no GPU wouldnt the APC 550VA ~ 1.9k suffice for a 10-15 mins back up time. Why is a 800VA UPS for his config :O

I was thinking about a APC 650VA or 550VA. I would want around 10-15 mins backup with the monitor connected.

Hi guys reviving the thread as I'll be getting the system next saturday. The config is

ASUS 880G motherboard

Phenom x4 945

corsair 400w PSU or some coolermaster PSU (depending on availability)

The system would have 3 HDDs. 2 SATA and a IDE. And will have a DVD drive. I will never add a GPU. But may add a good sound card later on. Couple this with the 22" monitor I would like to know if it will overload the APC 550VA UPS.

Microtek 800v double battery. Its the best AFAIK and m a happy user of it..
