Storage Solutions which usb drive for securing data properly

I want to carry along my usb drive with all my data in it (account details, password, personal files). for that i need a secure program which is universal and not tied up with a machine.

reqd:
1. 8gb atleast. 16gb drives seems higher in terms of cost
2. Brand corsair and sandisk looks good. how good is corsair service center availibility
3. a data protection program which does not require me to install software on every pc i want to use the drive. Even if i get a portable software which does the job properly would do.

My last option would be to secure the files using ms office password.

AFAIK corsair is best and reliable..Get the 8gb common version and lock it with the encrypting softwares like

CryptCD: CryptCD

CD-Lock: CD-Lock Software - Create encrypted secure CDs that you use normally - no need to decrypt first!

Both are paid softwares

@OP Corsair Flash Drives are fairly fast and reliable in my experience - i have had a 4GB one for quite some time now and i use it carelessly + carry it everywhere as well but it keeps on going.

Also have a look at PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives - I use this free suite for portable applications.

i think i wont get a solution where i can use a software to secure data on the drive in both windows and linux.

tell me about corsair... how good is after sales support... and what is the difference between voyager and another gt something version.
