Which Wifi6 router should I get?

Hi,

My decade old secondary router has stopped performing, so thought of getting a new one.. Though all I have is a 100 mbps connection at the moment, wanted to stay future proof by opting for a Wifi6 router..

Having considered the tp-link AX12 and AX 23, I need to know if the dual band WiFi 6 feature on the AX 23 is really worth opting for..

AX23 : (AX1800)
5 GHz: 1201 Mbps (802.11ax)
2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps (802.11ax)

AX 10 / AX12: (AX1500)
5 GHz: 1201 Mbps (802.11ax)
2.4 GHz: 300 Mbps (802.11n)

Thank you for the inputs..

I got the ax23 model since it has openwrt support.
5ghz band is more important to me with better signal whether it be wifi 5 or 6.

+1 for the AX23.

Be advised that only the older v1 variant supports OpenWRT and the later hardware variants have reduced ram which will not be compliant.

Owned archer c6 before. Gave it to friend. Using ax23.
My plan is only 50 Mbps so can't say much about speed or real world performance.

Honestly, I would recommend you save the money and get the ax1500, I bought it way back in 2020 for about 6k, its available for around 2-2.5k now.. I have a 300 mbps connection and at a distance of about 30-40 ft with multiple walls in between, it is still able to provide speeds of 160-180 mbps on the 5ghz band.. I never use the 2.4ghz band due to the good range of 5ghz band.. (Maybe congestion in your neighborhood will get u a different result), And as for future proofing, I dont think wifi 6 on 2.4g is something that will really take off in the future as 2.4 is already really congested, I think a better bet for futureproofing will be 6ghz (wifi 6e or 7), but its not currently available in India.. If u have the budget, go for the better option, but I feel ax10 is enough, atleast for 5-6 concurrent users..
