Graphic Cards which x800xl?

Wow...lotsa replies!!! ATI vs Nvidia sure is a popular topic.
Well , let me point out first that i'm neither a fanatic nor a Nvidiot. I'm just looking for a card that'll give me best bang for the buck.
Ok, so u all are saying that powercolor is not so good. Then I've got number of options under $300. The HIS card is not available widely. I found it here thru froogle

Cant make up my mind whether to spend $345... neways, by the time I decide, it'll probably be out of stock.

I have a Sapphire x800xl , red pcb. (got it at a competitive price)

Shortly putting the ATI Silencer 5 rev.2 on it. (got it pretty cheap)

after that i may put in that auxillary power conector (got the smd parts from a radeon 9500 card, just need to confirm and verify the circuit changes)

Do HIS manufacture their own cards ??? or are they just a reseller
like leadtek, BGF and many other "Brands" ....???????

LOL.But if reports about ATi's R520-problems are true ,ATi will be under a lot of pressure by next month and *may* resort to drastic price cuts to maintain market share.Buying a card just a month b4 the launch of the next generation is not too wise a decision anyway. But final choice is urs dude.

I still suggest that you go ahead and buy a 6800GT(my personal choice) or the X800 XL(the common choice).

If your friend is coming soon, then don't lose the opportunity..... buy the dam graphics card!!!! But if your friend is coming after a month or so, then it will obviously be better to wait.....

My problem is I want to buy my new rig next month. And since i'll be going pci-e, i'll need a new card. Without the gfx, no use buying new mobo, proccy etc. And my friend is coming back this month end, or early next month. I've already told him about the DFI nf4 mobo, and hopefully he'll also get the ocz ram. Just taking a chance with the gfx. Not sure he'll agree to all 3. If he doesnt get the x800xl, then it'll be 6600gt here. Its 10K right?

Gainward on the 6600gt has heat sink which is flimsily mounted, resulting in about 5 degrees increase, better go with leadtek or gigabyte

I wud prefer to buy from some reputed sites such as Newegg, Monarch Computers, Chief Value, Zip Zoom Fly. Newegg is my personal choice coz I have had pleasant and trouble free experience with them so far.

this link - http://www.resellerratings.com/topstores.pl might be of a little help in choosing ur online retailer.

LOL Nvidiots want to make this another flamewar topic. The point being X800XL is as good as 6800 GT at stock speeds. SM 3.0 is a joke on NV4x. Nevertheless I still maintain if you are getting both of them at similar prices choose a 6800 GT.
I have gone over thousand of posts in [H] and beyond 3d where the ppl have both the 6800 GT as well as X800 XL and most of them prefer the X800XL simply because "it feels much more smoother". I will definitely post some links if I find them.

Are you sure about it Sheriff.
Also are the Gigabyte GPu's manufactured here or Abroad.

Gigabyte only makes low ebd. And by low end i mean last gen 854 Mobos here. Nothine else is made here. Not graphic cards specially.
They are made in their main plan.
