hi ..friends i have been using sony ericsson's NEO V mob. which has got gingerbread and recently i have got a option for upgradation to newer version...,so just wanted to know while we upgrade..-does our phone memory's data and app's are erased or are as it is...??

yes, apps get erased. Actual, it factory resets the phone (You will loose apps, contacts, messages etc). You can backup applications anytime using TItanium Backup. Sync your Contacts with your Google account. You can backup messages in Go SMS Pro.

Search for SMS backup and call log backup apps in the android market. Use both the apps to backup messages and call log as seperate files.

i just upgraded my Neo V to ICS and the Sony PC companion does the backing up of apps and contacts.

after final rebooting the phone seemed to look same as ever.

had been using the Go launcher app and it was installed automatically when the phone got rebooted.
