u also have to remember dat CRYSIS does a lot more dan jus gfx..
jus look at the physics , the level of interactivity , huge open levels (initially), partial nonlinear gameplay...so it does a hell lot of more processing dan COD4 ..so ppl who think dat CRYSIS is taxin ,jus think again.

I would have thought that one could relax even if one's PC was stressed...after all, stressing out your cpu & gpu aint the same as stressing out your mind....or is it? lol....

Farcry is a good enough game for me....but the one thing that makes a game believable for me is an emotionally appealing storyline, and it's probably because we tend to focus so much on the plot that we tend to overlook the "not so convincing" graphics too (as in games like Mafia, max payne ) ...that's where crysis falls just a bit short of expectations.

Im very impressed.For me Crysis SP>GOW SP>COD4 SP.Call of duty 4 single player sucks and everything is scripted and linear.But COD4 MP is very nice.
 
Read somewhere about Crytek statement that Crysis is open to DX10.1 patch. DX10.1 patch not released yet so no benchmarks available.

With DX10.1 hardware support Crysis should perform better than DX10 and not tax system as its doing now...

DX10.1 is not magical, it only adds significant improvements, that too, from a developer standpoint and something the end-user won't notice. furthermore, It will be really stupid to immediately switch to a better technology just for the sake of it. DX10 is still a toddler at the hands of developers at the moment, they'd need to take full advantage of it before moving to a newer API. In the end, Crysis will tax the system regardless of DX10 version simply because the game is that demanding (on current gen GPUs anyway). also, where did you read Crysis will support DX10.1 in the future? Cevat Yerli already stated they didn't want to or will (In the near future) switch to DX10.1 since there aren't any graphical improvements and it would be alienate the current DX10 card owners. would be really helpful if you could provide your source :)
 
i am ... so far been blown out by its graphic ability ... on the story front i shud try it ....

so far the best story line was in Halo 1 ... anytime and Max payne
