Wht should i do guys ??

I currently own a 6681.

I have 13.5k to spend n i own a Creative EP-630 to go with any set

1. Buy K750i + 2gb = Around 13K

2. Buy w810i = 14K

I m on a tight budget, so i wont be able to get a higher MS if i buy a w810 for now, Maybe i ll buy 1gb or 2gb after like 4-6months.

So how does they compare

1. Music Quality****

2. Camera Quality****

3. Loud Speaker Quality ******

4. Looks****

5. Functionality

6. Battery Life

Also since the newer K750s ll be CID49, ll i be able to mod it ??

Just help me out guy :D

TIA

yes. u can mod the 750i cid 49 to 800i.. i have done it, bunnybai has done it, saiyan and smith have too modded thier phones. they all had cid 49 ;)

as far as i remember..

the modded 750i sounded better(through earphones and on the loudspeaker) then the 810i ...

looks wise 810 is a killer... :P

functionality wise. hmmm. i think both are same ..810i got edge(Afaik)

camera quality is the same... for both phones.. (from what i could see from the pics clicked from both phones)

if u buying now. get the 750i.. better deal .. :D..

I read on TE (K750i review) that It have Low Sound that you could miss Calls in Nosy Street/Environment etc.

Famous and Worst Joystick Problem?

Does low sound problem solved by Flashing it with W800i software?

Yes the low sound problem does get solved by flashing it to the w800i firmware, ive done it on my cid 49 phone. The joystick problem depends on how you use it , if tou tug on it during games and such it would become loose and tough to use.

But FLASHING new K750i phone to W800i software didn't Trashed the Warranty. Some Member here said it won't affect warranty as you didn't damage the Hard Ware and if any HW problem arise in Warranty period, company will look after it.

Is it so?:S

Then why SE them self didn't flash New K750i to increase Ring tone and other Sound Volume?:S

i have k750i cid 49 and would like to flash it to w800i .. so will u pls help me .. ?

hmm.. have a 320kbps mp3 ring tone.. which is also loud enough.. lolzz.. should work fine... personally i havent really noticed whether the phone has lower ring tone or no. since my 750i is usually always on silent mode.lol

and yeah joystick problem really depends on your usage... :P

hey aint the Loudspeaker of w810i pretty low...Heard it on a frnds cell and i was shocked to hear so low..considering dat w550 was so good..;)

Neither.
Seriously mate, neither of these phones seem like a logical next step for someone with a Nokia 6681..I've the 6680 and I think that the handset is pretty accomplished in what it set out to do..And even the music playback (thru the earphones) is pretty good. No point dishing out 10K+ for only minor advantages and the obvious disadvantage of switching to a non-Symbian phone..

Your next phone should ideally should be something much more advanced than the 6681..Maybe a N73/N80/K790i and with N95 due to launch in March, their rates are likely to fall & then might be a good idea to switch..Not now..Just think it over.. :)

hmm.. My 6681 has been giving me some fatal problems lately :(..

Like, when i click a Pic, it shows that Memory is less, but infact there is 150+mb free (FYI: the mem option is set to Memory card) :(

also .. how many ppl here suggest me to keep the 6681 n wait for somthing better ?? :D

Ya that seems like an inherent problem with 6680/6681..Btw when it says "Memory less", it refers to the RAM (which sucks in 66XX) & not the storage capacity on ur DVRS MMC..

Couple of things that have helped me tackle that easily:
1. Format the phone & update it with the latest firmware, which you can now do on your own as well..
2. Restart your handset every 2-3 days ( not too difficult an ask..ehh..;) )..And trust me this point works wonders!

Even if you are planning to switch to another phone, I highly recommend you try these steps once before making that switch..Who knows..You might end up saving that hard-earned moolah.. :P

I'd get the k750i among what you've listed ... though remember that you'd be missing out some of the features of the 6681 and the joystick could be as issue, however if you want a nice pocket friendly phone which is fast and has good mp3 playback and a great cam then look no further :)

Remember that get the 2GB memory stick only if you want to keep it for a long time since the newer se phones come with the new m2 card format (unless you got a psp or a sony cam)

hey wats the cost of a 1gb mem card for k705i??

and ya go for k750i its a nice phone.. n its not symbian so no problem of virus :P though u will b missin symbian features ... but u can install many games n softwares in *.jar format which are as good as *.sis stuffs....

n ya the cam n the FLASH are awesome

2. Restart your handset every 2-3 days ( not too difficult an ask..ehh.. )..And trust me this point works wonders!

not required...what many people seem to miss is the fact that unless you explicitly exit an app by pressing the exit softkey (and apps include messaging, call history and other inane stuff like them, not just your quickword and divx player), the app stays open in the background and consumes precious memory...Thus if you have the habit of simply pressing the no red key to relgeate the app to the background, within a few days, your memory gets swamped and the fone starts acting buggy.....

if you feel the phone has slowed down, and you don't feel like restrting, Just press the menu key for a few seconds to see the list of open apps in the backgrnd...switch to each one by one and close them explicitly...thaz it :)

^^Ofcourse I know that mate..Have been using my 6680 since Jun'05 :P
But what SCK has mentioned in indeed an issue with 668X handsets..I've a habit of closing each and every application properly (The only time I use the "red" key is to cut/cancel a call ;)) but even then I've faced these issues..So just to avoid any untimely encounter with such an application collapse, its better to just restart every 2-3 days.. :)

And SCK, you may install File Explorer..It shows the "free memory" available, which when you restart/start the phone is at around 8-9MB, and whenever you find it below 2MB..its a good time to restart the phone..
