To add to what people are saying, my 2 year old Raptor just died :(, it was from US, not sure if I can claim warranty here, will try, anyways subbed with a Seagate 1TB, and I have 3 other Seagates which are more than 3 years old, still running fine!

Don't you think its the MNC's (WD in this case) prerogative to provide for a dedicated courier service if they are promising Door-to-Door service to its customers.
thats right, so they have tied-up with AFL courier. But i admit that their failure rate are higher then the RMA they can provide, as a result RMA laggs

My setups

WD:

640AAKS x 1

750AAKS x 2

10EACS x 1

10EADS x 1

15EADS x 1

15EARS x 1

20EARS x 2

Elements 320GB x 1

Seagate

Momentus 320GB x 1

7200.8 300GB x 1 with a blown protector (drive still works)

7200.8 500GB x 1

Hitachi 500GB x 1. with a fiddly and borderline protector (drive still works)

RMAs for the last 5 years:

WD

640AAKS x 1 (replaced with 750AAKS)

10EACS x 1 (replaced first with refurb EACS, then with new EADS).

Seagate - 120GB IDE x 1 (failed without replacement)

Maxtor - 120GB SATA x 2 (failed without replacement)

As you can see - I still prefer WD. Haven't bought a Seagate drive in 5 years, the last was the 500GB 7200.8 in 2006.
