Why can't the concept of Grabbon be extended to Consumer Electronics?

Why cannot the group bargaining / group buying concept like Grabbon.com be replicated on consumer electronics products?

If I join with 20 other people who are interested in buying a Samsung LCD TV, the price is going to be brought down by the dealer, isn't it? Why should this be constrained to only services?

Am I missing out on the basic concept somewhere?

I guess concepts like Grabbon can be extended to other consumer products, its just a matter of time before someone does this or even Grabbon or the likes move into the product domain. The whole concept is still very nascent in India, its a wait and watch

Its already there. You just have to decide to do it.
My friend along with his 2 collogues purchased a LG 32" LCD tv from Vijay Sales Pune.
The price was 42K, but the VSP price was 36K. When they bargained saying they wanted to purchase 3 TVs they finally managed to bring the price down to 30K :)
This was in Sept 09.
So find a few members who wanna purchase the same product and bargain.
