Why is a 'b**ch' rig called so??

I always wonder about the origin of this term- b**ch RIG- and am quite curious of its origin!!:P

Is it some kind of Techie slang??:S

I had thought maybe i should ask it here but then had found it quite inconsequential and forgot about it!!:)

I had initially come up with one explanation to pacify my doubt!!

Caution: Author of this post regards women with great respect and any of the following remarks are not with intent of hurt or disrespect!!
I intend no disrespect to womankind but the explanation i had created did kind of originate from the way the word 'b**ch' is used in society in a rather demeaning way!!:no:

"Maybe surfing and chatting and such other tasks are relatively mundane/menial tasks compared to gaming and OCing which demand uber h/w support!!
Hence its called a b**ch- something unimportant/ignorable- as in something that is low maintenance and does all the mundane/menial computing tasks of enthusiasts/gamers/overclockers and need not be showered with attention/respect/pride, at least as much as the MAIN rig does!!"

Please all my friends, please clear this misconception i have in my mind!!:cool2:
 
a second women in life other than the wife existing at the same time is called a b**ch

thus a second rig in life other than the main rig existing at the same time is called a b**ch

Well, i had thought of that and it seems apt...
but then shouldn't the main rig be called b**ch as its the more exciting one and holds your interest/thoughts more than the other!!;) :P
The dutiful, reliable and stable spare rig should be called WIFE!!:rofl:

AFAIK there have been designs of a new rig i read somewhere that can give u sensual feelings when touched or w.e. .. getting closer to reality :devil2: :devil2:

so heres the reason why i popped this question now, and i have to mention it as i see the pros not replying.
This is a serious matter for me atleast and i would really appreciate a genuine, concrete explanation.

I am in a fix now because of the following-
I have been asked by a woman as to why we use this term and i was at a total loss of words.:(
But since i suffer from Foot-in-Mouth syndrome, i still managed to blurt out my xplanation saying maybe ...!!:ashamed:
I have promised her that i will ask my pals/gurus and let her know about it.:cool2:

The Lady in question happens to be a journalist/editor too and this might just appear in the newspaper in context to PC/OC crazy people who many a times go to extreme ends to satiate their 'Need for Speed'- multiple rigs being a part of that 'Rush'.:(:ashamed:
 
I think some kinda loser coined this term as it happens most of the time. The so called geeks who dont have a life end up using weird words to satisfy their ego and it supposedly makes them even more elite.
In the end they themselves dont know what they have been talking about and why.
 
Bikey, just come up with something creative.. as Ren mentioned there's no exact definition for it and people will prefer the more creative story anyway :lol:

why would you wanna call your rig a wife?? b**ch seems apt.... wife's are to be joked abt. .and b**ches are to have *cough* *cough**cough*hardcore *cough* *cough* .. fun with... lol...
