The problem with viewing piracy through moral lenses is that it blocks all avenues of thoughts concerning the subject. In countries such as India, the more positive effects of piracy are often ignored, for unfortunately, one can only be pro-piracy or anti-piracy. There is no room for middle-ground.

An interesting look, just how much do you think piracy has benefitted INdia in terms of providing work experience for the people who run electronic shops and such. This is in addition to the number of graphic designers etc who have picked up Photoshop and use it in their job.

Perhaps piracy in emerging countries such as India has a beneficial effect? :)
