well, in logic, hot air goes up, so why dont they people have something to expel air from top of the cabinate, i mean, it can be done, right ???

is there a reason, :@

yep the wavemaster comes with such attachment. I have mine setup to exhaust from top.
Here it is.

IN most cabinets the PSU and back of top CD rom come soo close that placing fan there is useless as cables will block the area anyway.
It does help though.

Some Questions...

What CPU temps do you get in that case - and at what ambient room temp ? How many and what sizes are the fans in that case ?

well its simple.
He cut a hole in the cabinet above and put the fan there ;)

Regarding wavemaster.
My room temp is about 28.
Ambient inside case is 32C.
CPU idle=40C(oced to 2,5Ghz)
CPU load=48C.
Not bad for air.

mates, i beg ya, tell me how u did that put a fan above

Darky a Tut For that please...

Its very simple.I made a template for 120 mm Fan,then i marked it on the cabinet and cut it with a dremel.

UPS manufacturers can cut those holes in seconds.

Try to find one in your locality, there are numerous UPS makers.

They have the exact measurement of the holes for 80mm/120mm....

Yep, u r right.. u can cut a hole the size of a CD and then place a fan, mark points for mounting the fan and drill holes for that too.. voila.. ;)

Thanks Mask !! This is good information - I must remember this when I want to cut a hole in my case for extra fans.

I have never handled one of those smaller half size CD's are they by any chance the size of a 80mm or 90mm fan ??
