:@A personal experience with the reliance ass*****.
Well my greed for an unlimited plan led me to apply for a reliance connection (I already had airtel). The salesman came promptly enough on a Sunday to collect money from me. The cheque was given and within a week the money was deducted.
It has been more than 2 weeks now and there is no sign of any connection. Here is what they say:
1. On weekdays they say that we do not work beyond 6 o clock and as I am in office so connection is impossible.
2. On weekends whenever I try to call them they say they are sending someone who never reaches my place.
They can come to connect money on a Sunday but for a connection sorry we do not f****** work beyond 6.
I am sorry I disagree with most of the members in TE on this. Relaince always used to suck not only broadband but in everything they do. It is certainly not reputed as an ethical company and was always in my bad books. I would pay a little more and have a FUP based plan with good service rather than this kind of shit.
Sorry for the rant and my advice avoid reliance.

my friend here in Bangalore got the Airtel connection . He came to him house at 9 30 to install . Take that haters :P

@xtremevicky...exactly my point. Reliance might be good for school kids who have nothing better to do. I do not think I have the time to chase reliance just to get a broadband connection and 40GB a month + whatever else at 256kbps is ok for me rather than shitty service and arguing with moronic customer care.

I had a similar experience as you. I was with Airtel earlier but had to shift to Reliance because of service issues. Anyway, to cut a long story short, i had to wait almost 2 weeks after paying the amount for the guy to turn up. What worked for me was constant pestering of the sales guy who took the money. I kept reminding him everyday morning and finally the technician turned up.

Well I remember couple of years back I had applied for Reliance Wimax and the sales guy came to collect cheque, after a week they turned up to install but found out there was no proper signal and hence it was not feasible. However, they never cashed the cheque.

But have had some issues in mobile like activating shitty VAS without consent and not letting to deactivate that easily etc. Reliance is far from ethical.

I think BSNL if good in your area ( Do enquire about it from friends and neighbours ) for 512 .

840 odd is better than 990 in airtel for 512 plan and a FUP . ( Bangalore rates )

It always depends on the locality...here in hyd they collected a cheque on sunday evening and by tuesday afternoon..internet was up and running...I had some difficulty in adjusting to their browser authentication...after that no issues at all...been downloading 200GB+ every month...

I had said it earlier. The service personnel do not maintain uniform quality.
All said once when your internet will be running you would experience better service.
It is just adjusting to install the connection.
Get on the back of the local guy you could get it done. Just hang in there.
Had to go through similar things to get my walky connection but when once done all was great.

@ALL..They are calling me now to install the connection. As of now though it is not possible during weekdays because of office timings. So I have asked them to come on a Saturday. However I am worried. What happens if something happens to the connection. I will have to wait till weekends to get it fixed.

If they need to send someone to your place to fix it, then definitely you have to be there, right? You can't hold that up against Reliance. Mostly, issues are located outside the house which don't need access. The engineers are usually kind enough to come to your place to check if everything is working after they think they have fixed it. And no, they usually send someone within 1-2 days in case of an issue (From my experience).

@All...update: Finally got the reliance connection done. Touchwood it is working properly as of now. Of course being on an 1/2Mbps unlimited of course brings the smile to your face. Will have to wait and see for a few months to see how it goes.

I paid 2.2k to reliance in Dec 2010(Delhi). I got a Confirmation email too. After week they gave me modem and phone and fitted some wires too but then one of their lineman called me and said there is some choke in this area. From that day till today nobody solved that choke issue. I sold that modem and phone and recovered my money.

I ve been on reliance for almost 4mths now..had frequent port drop issues..then had to install a router to fix that..Now its perfectly working, they usually fix up problems in 1-3 days..Also reliance offers the best pings in india! Very useful for gaming!

I've filled up their online form like 7 times in past 1 & half week, even emailed them, still no reply.Any idea what else can i do to atleast make them call me & check the feasibility.
