I'd probably go with IDMan coz' of the sheer speeds it gets..

Related query, one that I posted before but never got a answer : why would one download manager be faster/slower than another ? Isn't your internet connection the deciding factor ?

By the way, I've been using Fresh Download for 4-5 years now - free, works well, simple to use, malware free.

for our indian connections it is not much use....:bleh: (128,256 kbps type)
but still we have topics where we discuss one manager is faster than the others.....lol

The only reason a dwnload manager may give u better speed would be in a single scnerio....
1) the host server is limiting the dwnload stream to a specific stream (say 15kB)
2) then we could have a manager which would split the files in various pieces & download all at once....:hap2: this would increase the speed coming from the server not more than what u have subscribed to:tongue:
(assuming the download is not based on IP basis....like rapidshare.de :()
*this is precisely what they mean when they say increasing speed by 400 times* i cant help but  at the people who fall for such stuff.... ( this can help if have uncapped your modem...which is again a high risk...am trying to uncap my beetel 220bx...but aint successful yet)
The reason i use dwnload manager is (Flashget to be precise)
1) download multiple items at once (queue )
2) scheduling
3) pause & resuming..
i get the same speeds from IE downloader , opera manager & also firefox...so the change in speed is not a factor...
