hi,

I am facing a weird probelm with office comp attached to a LAN. The problem is data is being continously transmitted thru LAN/Internet (no idea).

I went to Control Panel->administrative tools-> computer management option.

in the sessions area - it shows two computer names accessing my system. These systems do exist in my network.

I tried to close both sessions but the sessions start again automatically. i tried to remove one of the system off the network but still a session with that computer name is starting on my computer.

in the shares area - i see that in IPC$ (remote IPC) the # of client redirections is 3.

in the open files area - the following file is open two times (\PIPE\SPOOLSS) accessed by administrator.

I have not shared any folders/drives on my system except for my printer.

The network link icon on the status bar is busy all the time from the moment i turn my computer on, this has made my system really slow.

Is it some kind of virus that is trying to send data outside my network. is there any software like antispy/adware that i can use to check. i am using e-scan as my antivirus software as my company uses it.

pls help.
regards - Sunil Yohannan

ha ha! dont worry abt this being a virus!

spoolss is required by the system to share the printer. without that the person connecting to ur comp wont be able to print.

if it is slowing down ur computer, u can stop sharing the printer resources.

ok. thats info for me.

so whoever has installed my printer as a network printer on their system their sessions will be shown in the session window. is it so ? and i cannot delete them until i unshare my printer.
