Wifi issues

ISP: TATA Play Fiber
Router: Default Tata provided Nokia router
Issue: Frequent errors like- NO internet/ NO WiFi connection/ on both the Wireless bands!

Incident:
Yesterday there was a power outage at my place and when the power got restored. the Wifi band leds on the router didn't glow.

Rebooted the router yet no go!

Thus, all of a sudden no wireless connectivity at all.

Connected the router via Ethernet to my pc and logged into the console only to find that

Both the 2.4 and 5ghz bands were in disabled state!
But the setting/configs. for each of them were intact and didn't got reset.

Enabled both the bands but since then, whichever device connects to either of these wifi bands gets these errors randomly- NO internet/ NO WiFi connection incl. desktop and laptops.
But Ethernet works flawlessly!

I went through all the router settings across sections and all my dhcp reservations, channels or any such settings/configs are as is aka none of them have got reset or disabled except for these two wireless bands!

Main concern/Mystery:
  • The sole mystery still remains as to how can a power outage results in band disablement? This isn't the first time there has been a power outage so unable to figure out this particular incident!
  • Upon enabling, facing no internet errors randomly/frequently across wifi devices. -TVs, Mobiles, Laptops, Desktop on wifi.
  • Ethernet working absolutely fine!
How to troubleshoot and address no connectivity issue on WiFi.

**Dont ask me to change my router or anything like that as everything was working flawlessly before yesterdays outage.

Turning things ON/OFF is stress full in electronics. It can knock things out of place prematurely which were on their way of going bad anyway.
Can't tell why it stopped working, but this how a bad wireless module dies, they start working intermittently.

The giveaway might be that the router disabled both networks automatically, which never happens, ever. In the startup routine it didn't find things in places where they should indicating something somewhere inside has gone bad.

Open it up, check the antennas if they are connected properly, apart from this I don't know what else can be done, perhaps a full reset might work.

If that was the case then after turning on/off the router it should again had disabled both the antennas right? But now physically its behaving properly.

I know that doing a router reset is the best and the last resort before arriving to a conclusion but then I have to redo all the painful job of setting things up like feeding mac id filtration, reservations, etc etc. which I wan to avoid given my nature of work having almost no time for all this.

Can you login to command line interface (CLI) of the router. Nokia routers can have logs enabled which can be accessed in CLI.

Something like this should show logs from last reboot. To troubleshoot what happened logging has to be turned on (if allowed) and then the scenario replicated.

show log log-id 99

show commands can vary based on the router firmware and OS. Maybe this might help. https://documentation.nokia.com/htm...S_Interfaces_Guide/Interface-CLI-Show-CLI.pdf
If logging is turned on then maybe it already has the log of why this happened in the first place.

You might be able to export the settings you have and import them back once the reset is done. I had similar issues (wifi getting disabled, router rebooting randomly) with an Asus router after a lightning strike close to my place, which I ultimately had to replace.
