Guys have a dell inspiron N4010 laptop.
Is it not able to detect any wifi connections.
The adapter is on. updated the drivers.
Still nothing.

The DN WLAN utility says radio off.
how do i turn it back on?

Its enabled in adapter settings and also checked device manager..everything seems to be fine.

You might have pressed the on/off key unknowingly. It is simple, the key is located next to escape key, and has "radio tower" logo on it. Try pressing it again and see if the problem still persists.

Guys, im not a noob!

Obviously i tried the radio hot key.

Even when its on..the radio is still off.

I think the wifi card has gone kaput. H/W problem, not S/W

Well, no one called you...............

Anyways, to the problem at hand, try with any other card, or check if antenna is connected.

Also, either way, its more better for you to buy a USB wifi dongle as it is cheaper than a mini PCIe card!

I did not say you are a noob. But sometimes we might miss small things, so hence suggested key solution :) Not saying you are a noob ;)

Guys, just found out that the internal card has conked off.

the service guy told me ..that a new internal one will cost 2250. While a external usb dongle will be cheaper.

Please suggest me a good USB dongle, open to buy on ebay also.

TIA

^thanks.

Had a query though.

Saw a Belkin G dongle today. But it said..that G is only good for surfing the web..and if i want to stream videos..then i should get N or N+.

So i did not buy it.

Is this true?

Moreover, if i do get a N or N150 or N+ grade dongle..will it work with my linksys router which is of G level?
