Wifi Problems - WDS (bridge), USB dongle, slow speeds, port forwarding

So my setup is like this:

Airtel 1Mbps unlimited (usually 100-120 KB/s)

Beetel 220bx -> Buffalo WHR-G54S (Airstation 1) -> Buffalo WHR-G125 (Airstation 2) over WDS -> Desktop (through Belkin USB dongle).

My problem is that I am getting slow speeds in Torrents as well as browsing / http downloading / youtube type streaming. While browsing / http downloading is intermittently fast (~100 KB/s), it randomly drops to quite low (~30KB/s) and pretty much stays there most of the time. I added Airstation 2 over WDS to give a better signal, and everything seems to be in order. I get 3-4 bars (out of 5) on the Desktop through the Belkin USB dongle, and that does not fluctuate and stays at "Excellent" 95% of the time. torrents on the other hand NEVER go above 30 KB/s which is infuriating (I tested this the whole night, and it actually hit 120KB/s about a few minutes into the download, and then quickly came down to 30 KB/s and stayed somewhat constant in that area plus minus 10 KB/s for the rest o the night.

#1) So am I correct in assuming that the Belkin USB dongle is a problem? If so, would a PCI card be better? If so, any recommendations as to what would be locally available (Nehru Place / TE)?

#2) For the life of me I can't figure out why uTorrent etc. say that my port is closed. I have done the port forwarding as per the instructions on portforward.com (on Airstation 1) and Airstation 2 does not have any place to edit NAT tables (I suppose because it's in WDS bridge mode). Is there something special you have to do in bridge mode when it comes to port forwarding for utorrent?

#3) The reason I have two routers in bridge mode is because my room is somewhat separated from the rest of the house (where the main Airtel connection is) and while it was catching Wifi, it was only at around 2 bars or so and sometimes (not often) it would drop connections. I had the second router lying idle with a friend so that was convenient. Would I be better or replacing both routers with a wireless n router? (Recommendations?)

Help!

p.s. needless to mention, I am using WEP and broadcast SSID is off. I have even checked the routers and no one else is logged in.

.. most of the usual problems of Wi-Fi is the location and technology of a computer device .. we all know about it .. maybe you can use a more longer connections cable, or moved to higher place and opens .. and I use the external antenna for my Wi-Fi and modem...using a pig-tail can peaking the signal..you can look at INSTRUCTABLESdotCOM
