I have a MTNL wifi modem and a TP link wifi router (which i dont use).
Is there any way i can use the TP Link wifi router as a repeater to work in combination with the wifi modem of MTNL so i can sort of place the router in some other part of home / room to cover wider area of my home ?

Only if the TP Link router supports repeater mode. Other option is to check if any third-party firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato will work on it.

^^ Look for some option in your router's configuration saying to the tune of repeater mode or bridge mode. If it does, then it supports it, otherwise does not.

If it does not then look on dd-wrt/tomato websites whether your model is supported by them. If yes, then 99.99% repeater mode would be supported by installing custom firmware.

some models have a button to run it either as repeater/ap/router . even if it suppors dd-wrt check the forums if repeater mode works properly on your specific model or not
