Wifi/Wired router

Since everyone in the house now has a laptop/smart phone, I am planning to switch my YOU telecom router to a wifi one.

Currently I have a wired modem/router that my main PC is connected to, I want a router that still allows this connection (ethernet to PC) and still provides a secure wifi hotspot for the other devices (2 phones and a laptop).

Any recommendations for a budget of 1.5-2k?
 
Go for some option from tplink. Especially those have 2*5 dBi antaenna. The prices have been recently, grab one from Snapdeal..

I am assuming that I will have to keep my current modem, plug the Ethernet into the wifi router and then the wifi router will have the username/password of my connection stored insite it via its firmware, and allow me to setup a WEP Wifi hotspot. right?

Edit: I need a range of ~20 feet with a couple of walls (5in) in between, would 3dbi suffice or would I need 5dbi
