Wii for 9 year old kid

Hi,
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to gaming consoles.
My kid has severe allergy problems and therefore his outdoor playing is restricted. He plays a lot in the PC.
I've heard that playing using Wii involves physical activity. Since I've no experience - I'd like inputs for some actual user regarding it. Also, are there freely available games for Wii? Is it moddable to play ahem games?
Also how much does it cost in India and where it may be available in Delhi?

Antihistamines can sort out allergy problem.. As far as playing outside is concerned you can get your kid play in closed environment [hall or some room with open head] like hand ball or something like that for starters. There are many games with pretty much clean ground and no dust at all.

For indoor gaming you can try Wii yes it inculcate some properties of physical gaming but after all its a Video Game.. It will stress you kid eyes and prologuize use is highly prohibited .. Get the Wii but don't let him depends on it for physical activities.. That isn't a solution..

But I would suggest you to get the kid check up, potent vasodilators [histamine] can now be suppressed :) So a better check up and treatment should fix the allergy problem I guess..Maybe medpal sir could help :)

I hope that his problems were so simple. He is already under treatment of some eminent Doctors in Kolkata. Everything is tried - including antihistamines, steroid nasal spray, steroid inhalers etc. Sometimes it works but sometimes it gets out of control. He is now undergoing immunotherapy to reduce his sensitivity to specific allergens. A injection every week to control the allergy at the age of 9.
 
Atleast Wii involves some physical activity , better than PC gaming , its available at Palika bazaar for ~13k IIRC

and yes , its moddable

Nintendo Wii officially available at Maya Toys, Aurobindo Market near Hauz Khas. Also officially available at Reliance Digital stores.

I dont know how it is modded, if its a modchip installation job I would recommend buy original & then get it modded. And yeah Sardarji's shop is somewhat reliable, never had any issues with them. Got my PS2 modded there. AFAIK its called Star Electronics.

hey , i know exacctly what you are going through , went through a similar phase ( and am still going through it) , tried more than 100+ doctors , allopathy,homeopathy & recently ayurveda but nothin helps :(

never hurd of immunotherapy , do let me know the outcome , hope things work out well for him
